Greendur Technologies SL is a Spanish deep-tech company established in 2020 with a focus on decarbonizing industrial process heat. The stored energy is then dispatched as needed, providing heat at temperatures up to 350°C with an efficiency of over 90%. By replacing fossil fuels, Greendur’s solution directly reduces Scope 1 carbon emissions and offers clients greater energy independence and cost savings. The company’s thermal battery utilizes phase change materials, which provide a higher energy density compared to other systems. It is designed as a scalable, plug-and-play solution packaged within a standard 20-foot container, capable of storing 2 MWh and delivering 500 kW. Greendur targets high-energy-demand industries such as food and beverage, plastics, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and paper. Having validated a prototype in a real-world setting, the company is now scaling up to a 2 MWh system for further testing across various industrial applications. The firm has received financial backing from entities including Sodena, the public development agency of Navarra, and has participated in accelerator programs like Impulso Emprendedor and Lanzadera to commercialize its technology.
